Writer’s Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in contributing to AfroElle Magazine.We are currently accepting feature stories, interviews and articles that will inspire, encourage, empower and elevate our readers.
We are looking for content in the following areas;
Relationships, Health, Mind, Body& Soul, Spirituality, Business, Finances, Fashion& Beauty, Travel, Causes, Reviews, Art&Culture, Community, World events, Popular Culture
Submission Guidelines
Content
Your first step should be to read our magazine and become familiar with our style and understand the kind of articles we publish. Do you have a NEW idea; something that has not been covered in our magazine and you think our readers would love? Send us a pitch telling us about your topic and why you want to write it.
Your articles should be;
- Creatively/well written with a personal, conversational and friendly tone
- Word limit 500-700 words and feature stories / Interviews {1000-2000 words}
- Easy to read and understand.
- Add value and knowledge to the reader
- Edited prior to submission
- Submitted in Times New Roman 12 point font
Title/Bio/ Pictures
- Supply headline for your article
- Pictures that go with the article should include a source. (attach pictures separately from the article)
- Include your name, a bio (maximum 50 words), include ONE link to your blog/ website.
- Include a headshot photo
AfroElle reserves the right to edit accepted articles for grammar, length and clarity and the right to use your article in our digital and/or on the website.

Review Process
Give us one week to review your submission.
NOTE: AfroElle reserves the right to reject an article if it does not suit our mission or vision. You will be duly alerted if your submission has been accepted and if it has, we will inform you when it’s scheduled to appear on our website or in an upcoming issue.
Remuneration
We cannot afford to pay for article submission of any kind but we do appreciate your contribution and hope the exposure will be a great compensation.
Frequency
Unless scheduling changes, AfroElle’s digital magazine is published six times a year and the website updated every two weeks. Articles should be sent in by on the 1st of every month.
